Logan students place 1st in WKLL Academic Contest!

On December 2, four students from each grade in Logan High School spent the morning taking standardized academic tests.  The subject areas of those tests were: Math, Social Studies, Reading, Science and Written Expression.  On that same day students from other nine schools in the Western Kansas Liberty League were taking the same tests.  Consequently, there were approximately 40 students in each grade level taking each subject area test. 

Those participating in the contest for Logan High this year were:

12^th – Kinzie Alexander, Christen Greving, Regan Kats, and Sierra Tien
11^th – Leamarie Edwards, Faith Hofaker, Kayla Hofaker and Josh Van Laeys
10^th – Tiffany Horn, Makenzie Jansonius, Ryann Kats, and Riana Mays
9^th – Bodey LeRoux, Brianna Pinkerton and Riley Stockman

Students placing 4^th to 6^th place receive a league certificate and students who placed in the top three in each subject area receive a medal from the WKLL.   The scores from all five of their individual subject areas are added together to obtain an overall score.  Those with the top three overall scores also receive a medal from the WKLL.

Seniors-       Regan Kats – 2^nd Reading, Tied for 4^th Science, Tied for 5^th Social Studies, & 3^rd OVERALL

                                          The seniors finished in 4^th place in the league.

Juniors -       Leamarie Edwards – Tied for 2^nd Science & Social Studies, 2^nd Written Expression & Reading, 5^th OVERALL
Faith Hofaker – 1^st Social Studies, Reading & Written Expression, 4^th Science, & 1^st OVERALL
Kayla Hofaker – Tied for 2^nd Social Studies, 4^th Reading, 5^th Science
Josh Van Laeys – Tied for 2^nd Science, 1^st Math, Tied for 4^th Reading, & 2^nd OVERALL

                                    The juniors finished in 1^st place in the league.

Sophomores –     Makenzie Jansonius – Tied for 2^nd Written Expression, Tied for 1^st Social Studies

                                    The sophomores finished in 3^rd place in the league.

Freshman - Bodey LeRoux – Tied for 1^st Reading, Tied for 2^nd Social Studies, Tied for 6^th Science, Tied for 6^th Math &
5^th OVERALL
Riley Stockman – Tied for 3^rd Written Expression, Tied for 6^th Reading

                                          The freshman finished in 2^nd place in the league.

Overall the Logan students finished in FIRST place in the WKLL contest, followed by Wheatland in second and Cheylin finished in third.  Congratulations to all the students for their efforts!
