Logan students perform well at WKLL Academic Contest

     On November 30, four students from each grade in Logan High School spent the morning taking standardized academic tests.  The subject areas of those tests were: Math, Social Studies, Reading, Science and Written Expression.  On that same day students from other nine schools in the Western Kansas Liberty League were taking the same tests.  Consequently, there were 40 students in each grade level taking each subject area test. 

      At the High School basketball game on January 27, Logan High School students who placed in the top three were honored during an awards ceremony.   The scores from all five of their individual subject areas were added together to obtain an overall score.  Individuals who placed in the top three of any subject area, as well as overall top three placers were acknowledged.  LHS earning that recognition were:

Seniors -      
Leamarie Edwards – 1^st Science, 2^nd Writing, 2^nd Reading,  and 1^st Social Studies and tied for 3rd OVERALL
Faith Hofaker –3^rd Math, 2^nd Science, 2^nd Writing, 2^nd Reading, 2^nd Social Studies, and 1^st OVERALL
Kayla Hofaker – 2^nd Writing,
Josh Van Laeys – 1^st Math
The seniors finished in 1^st place in the league.

Juniors-        
Makenzie Jansonius – 1^st Writing, 1^st Reading, & 1^st Social Studies
The juniors finished in 4^th place in the league.

Sophomores – 
Matthew Kirkendall – 1^st Math
Bodey LeRoux – 1^st Science & 3^rd Reading
The sophomores finished in 4^th place in the league.

Freshmen              
The freshmen finished in 7^th place in the league.

This year the Logan students finished second overall behind Wheatland/Grinnell.
