Launch the media gallery 1 playerThe Phillips Country Christian Foundation sponsors an annual writing contest for all 8th grade students in the county. Students are encouraged to identify a hero in their life who is a good role model for others. One winner of the "My Hero" essay contest is chosen from Logan, Northern Valley, Thunder Ridge, and two from Phillipsburg. Winners each receive an iPad, a protective case, and a $50 iTunes card.
Board member Nicki Sammons presented this year's award to Haylee Tien on Tuesday, Feb. 7 during lunch. Haylee's hero is her dad, Steven.
