Logan students chosen for Honor Band and Choir
Four Logan High School students were recently selected to participate in the NW KMEA District's Honor Band and Honor Choir. Chosen were Riley Stockman, freshman and Darrian Elliot-Lammers, junior in the choir and Faith Hofaker, junior and Kayla Hofaker, junior in the band. Both groups are selected through audition. Live auditions were held for the choir and CD auditions for the band. All students prepared required material to be evaluated. Faith and Kayla were both placed as first chair in the alto saxophone and horn section, respectively. The NW District Honor Choir will be under the direction of Ken Hakoda, music professor at Kansas Wesleyan in Salina. The NW District Honor Band will be under the direction of Dr. Donald Linn, music instructor at K-State University in Manhattan. The public is invited to hear both these groups, along with the NW District Honor Orchestra on Saturday, December 5, beginning at 3:30 p.m. The concert will be on the stage of the Beach Schmidt Performing Arts Center inside Sheridan Hall on the FHSU Campus. Admission is $5 for adults. Students get in free.
