Robin Van Laeys leads volleyball team to 500 wins!

On Tuesday, Aug. 29 the high school volleyball team traveled to Brewster to face the Titans of Brewster and Bulldogs of Golden Plains.  The Trojans were victorious in defeating both teams in 2 sets.  The first win of the evening was eventful and will go down in history as the 500th career win for head coach Robin Van Laeys who has led the Trojan volleyball program since 1992.
 
The past 25 years have proven to be successful for the Trojans as Coach Van Laeys has led her team to the state volleyball tournament eight times with 4- 4th place finishes and a state championship title in 2015.  The Trojans have impressively averaged 20 wins per season for the past 25 years.  On Friday, Sept. 1, past and present volleyball players joined Coach Van Laeys on the track during halftime of the football game to be recognized.  Congratulations to the Logan Trojans and Coach Robin Van Laeys.  We are proud of you!
 
 
In the first match against Triplains Brewster, the scores were 25-13, 25-10.

In the second match, Logan defeated Golden Plains  6-24, 25-16.

Team Hitting - 48/60 12 kills, Lexi Hilburn 6/6 2 kills
Serve Receive - Camryn Greving led with 8 passes at a 2.12 average
Setting - Brianna Pinkerton 28/30 5 assists  
 
"It was time for us to get on the floor and see where we are right now.  The lack of experience did show last night as our consistency was lacking, however I was very pleased with how we responded to the difficulties.  We seemed to keep our cool and get right back in the fight.  I know that we will take these games as a starting point and begin our work to improve in every outing," said Coach Robin Van Laeys.
