High Excitement for Logan Girls
In the final regular season high school girls basketball game of the year, the Lady Logan Trojans competed very hard and played well, but they just were not able to hold on long enough as the Lakeside Knights outlasted them in a double overtime game. The Knights gain the victory by a score of 63-68. The game was back and forth through the first half and the Trojans found themselves down by one. However, Logan then went on a scoring spree and at the end of the 3rd quarter had corralled a 36-24 lead. The Knights then took their turn pouring in the points and as time was ticking off the clock LaRocque, a Lakeside freshman, drained the three pointer to snatch the victory from the Trojans and send the game into overtime. LaRocque did the same thing in the first overtime to force a second. Then the Lady Knights gained the upper hand and went on to win the contest. This game saw eleven 3-pointers between the two teams and the Logan squad shot an impressive 45% for the night. The Trojans also had 11 players finding their way to the hoop and the box score. Leading the way was Makayla Hilburn with 21 points and 4 assists. Karlee Braun followed with 12 points and 9 rebounds. In the girls JV game, the Lady Trojans ended the season with a 17-10 victory, and were lead by freshman Brianna Pinkerton.
