Lady Trojans place 4th at State
The Logan Lady Trojans earned their way to the 1A Division II State Championship Tournament in Hays on October 30-31. The Trojans entered the tournament with a 33-5 record, seeded 2nd.
In pool play on Friday, the Trojans took on Hutchinson-Central Christian, beating them 25-23 and 25-19. The second match proved a little tougher as it took the Trojans three sets to beat #6 seed Ingalls 25-12, 25-27, 25-17. In the final match of the night, the Trojans faced #3 Attica High School, slipping by them 25-21, 16-24, 25-23. These three wins guaranteed the Trojans a ticket to the semifinals on Saturday.In the first match-up against Axtell on Saturday, the Trojans lost 20-25, 21-25. In the consolation match, Logan faced Attica High School again, losing 15-25, 26-28. Logan ended with 4th place in the tournament. This is the third year in a row that the Logan Lady Trojans have placed 4th or better in the state tournament, coming away with the state championship last year. Way to go, ladies!!
