Lady Trojans lose one on the road

On Tuesday, February 14, the Logan Trojans traveled to Hill City to battle the Ringnecks. Due to short numbers for the Trojans because of the current flu season, the JV girls were only able to play two quarters. It was an exciting game as the Trojans hit a last second basket to force the game into extra minutes. During that overtime period however, Hill City was able to prevail by a score of 16-21.

Without senior point guard, Karlee Braun, the Lady Trojans were all forced into different roles for a game that provided tough guard pressure from Hill City. After some initial nerves and adjustment in the first quarter, the Trojans played a much more solid second quarter and were down 20-35 at half time. The Ringnecks pulled away in the second half due to their quickness, three-point shooting and 44% field goal percentage. The Lady Trojans lost by a final score of 35-63. Juniors Lexi Hilburn and Ryann Kats led scoring with 9 points and 7 points respectively. In the rebound category Camryn Greving had 6 and Lexi had 5. Ryann and Kelcee Braun each had two steals. Next action will be Friday in Grainfield against the Thunderhawks.
