Girls lose one at home
On Tuesday, February 21, the Lakeside Knights brought a very athletic and quick
ladies basketball team to Logan gymnasium. With only 12 girls suited up for the
Knights and the Trojans with 13, there was certainly some overlap in the JV and
varsity games. They did play three quarters of JV for this last night of junior varsity
basketball for the 2016-2017 season. The game was close all the way through, and
with 4.2 seconds left it was tied until a Lady Knight made one of her two free throws
to put them up by a score of 28-29. In varsity action the Knights came out of the
gate quickly and the Trojans found themselves trailing 10-23 at halftime. In typical
Trojan fashion however, the girls kept digging and fought back within four points a
couple times in the 3 rd and 4 th quarter. The Knights three-point shot however kept
the Trojans at bay and they were handed a 35-44 loss. In the loss the Trojans were
led by Karlee Braun and Ryann Kats with 10 points a piece and Brianna Pinkerton
followed closely with 9 points and a team high 9 rebounds.
