Lady Trojans Place 3rd in WKLL Tournament

On Thursday, Oct. 13, the Logan Lady Trojans traveled to Grinnell to play the first two games of pool play in the WKLL tournament.

Coming off of a tough game against Northern Valley earlier in the week, both teams struggled in their first game of the tournament.  Northern Valley had a little more steam as they beat Logan 21-25, 21-25.

In the second game, Logan had to regroup to take on a tough Golden Plains team.  This was a pivotal game, as this would determine whether or not the Trojans would advance to bracket play on Saturday.  While Logan got behind in the second set, they fought back and won 25-23, 25-23.

The second half of pool play was hosted in the Palco and Damar gyms on Saturday, Oct. 15.

Logan's first match of the day was held in Damar against the Cougars of Cheylin.  Logan won in 2 sets 25-12 and 28-26.  The Trojans then took on Palco for the 4th time this season, winning in 2 sets 25-14 and 25-13.  These two wins secured a spot in bracket play.

The Trojans moved to the Palco gym and played the #1 seeded Wheatland-Grinnell Thunderhawks, losing in 2 sets 20-25, 14-25.  In the consolation game, Logan was matched with Weskan.  The Trojans stuck it out, winning in 2 sets 25-13, 25-22 and placing 3rd in the tournament.
