JH basketball season nears end

On January 28, the last regular season Junior High basketball game was played in the Logan gymnasium, and it looked a little different than all the other nights.  This game matched up the Palco Roosters and the Logan Trojans.  The difference was due to the fact that the junior high boys from Palco and Logan have been playing together this year for both football and basketball.  Consequently, the only competition for the night was between the Logan and Palco girls.  In the first game of the afternoon, the Logan Junior High B team lost a close one by a score of 17-21.  The tides turned in the A team matchup as the Trojans were able to post a 30-19 victory.  At the end of 3 quarters Logan found themselves trailing by one, 15-16.  Both teams had struggled to this point to put the ball in the basket.  However, the Trojans came to life in the 4th quarter as they outscored their opponent 15-3.  Eighth grader, Kelsey Braun heated up and poured in 10 of her 14 points during the fourth quarter. Also contributing 14 points was eighth grader Camryn Greving.  Following the competition, the junior high boys team was split up for an inter-squad scrimmage, which provided much game-like practice for all involved.  The next JH basketball action will be at the WKLL tournament in Brewster on February 11 & 13.
