Students participate in Feed the Funnel program
Ryann Kats, Matthew Kirkendall, Mollie Sammons and Nate Cruz had the opportunity to attend the Feed the Funnel event at the 89th Annual Kansas State FFA Convention at Manhattan, KS. The team of four met at the Stout Center and assembled and packaged soup mixes for the hungry across the State of Kansas. They were allowed to take home 62 pounds of food for their own community. The Logan FFA Chapter decided to give the food to the Phillips County Food Pantry.
Madison Gottstine, Nate Cruz, Toni Jenner and Tag-a-long Hayden Gottstine traveled to Phillipsburg on June 21 to deliver the food that was made and packaged to the Food pantry. They got to tour the food pantry and learn how the food that they give is distributed to the people who are in need. They also had the opportunity to help the pantry stock the shelves with the food they brought. This opportunity allowed the students to go away with a new understanding of giving.
