Football awards
With a 7-2 record on their football season, the Logan Trojans just missed a playoff berth for the second year in a row. In the fourth year of their cooperative agreement between Logan and Palco, this is the second year for head coach Mike Jenner.
Several players earned individual post-season awards.
Riley Allen – Wichita Eagle 8-man Honorable Mention All-State End, 1st team End All-District Team, 1st team End WKLL;
Blake Bouchey - Wichita Eagle 8-man Honorable Mention All-State Linebacker, Hays Daily News 3rd team All-Area 8-man Linebacker/Guard.
Josh Van Laeys - Wichita Eagle 8-man 1st team All-State Defensive Line and Honorable Mention Quarterback, Topeka Capitol Journal 8-man 1st team All-State Defensive Line,Hays Daily News 2nd Team 8-man All-Area team Quarterback/Defensive Line, 1st Team Quarterback and Defensive Line All- District Team, Defensive MVP District 4 8-man I, 1st Team WKLL Quarterback and Defensive End, Kpreps All-State Defensive Line. Josh was also selected to play in the 8-man All-Star game on June 10. He will play for the Division I East team at Quarterback and Defensive End.
David Thompson - Wichita Eagle 8-man Honorable Mention All-State Runningback, Topeka Capitol Journal Honorable Mention All-State Runningback, Hays Daily News Super 11 All-Area team Runningback/Linebacker, 1st Team Runningback/Linebacker All-District Team, 1st Team Runningback/Linebacker WKLL, Kpreps All-State Runningback.
Louis Rameriz - Wichita Eagle 8-man Honorable Mention All-State Kicker.
“I am very proud of the individual awards the players earned this football season. They deserve the recognition they have received! Their individual awards are a direct product of the whole team’s efforts this year,” said Coach Jenner.
